This is my original image with no editing done to it. Below I have edited this photo three times. The first one I did, I desaturated the colour and edited the brightness and contrast. The second one I added vinyetting, edited the brightness and contrast. I also changed the unsharp mask and also played with the dodge and burn tool and lastly I changed the auto colour. All of these different changes make the photo have different connotations.

On this first change I desaturated the photo. This means I took all of the colour out of the photo, so there would only be black, white and grey shades on the image. I also edited the brightness and contrast, this was to enhance the blacks and the whites in the image, instead of it being all greys. I used the brightness to control how bright the photo would be, whether it was really light or very dark, this depended on what the image was going to be used for. I then used the contrast to control how dark the black would be and how white the white was.

This second image I edited the brightness and contrast, I did vinyetting and also used the dodge and burn tool. Firstly I did the vinyetting. I did this by adding a feather of around 90pts and then drawing an oval sized shape around the models face and part of her body, I then went to select and inversed the selection, this means that it selected the outside of the main part of the image instead of the models face. I then edited the brightness and contrast, this made the outside become darker, and I controlled how dark I wanted it too be. I did not make it too dark, I wanted it to just blend in, using the feathering also helps this as it makes the selected edges fade in rather than just cut off.
This last photo I only changed to auto colour. To do this I went to the the top bar and clicked on image, i then selected auto colour. This then automatically altered the image slightly. It is meant to change the colous in the photo very slightly to give it better colours and make the image look better. However sometimes it does not change it the way you think looks good and if this is the case you can just undo the auto colour. Although most of the time it is changed it looks more professional than the original image.
