Composition Photos

 We used composition photos to show the subject of the photo too have attitude and emotion. Different ways of taking the photo adds different meaning to the photo, it can add power, innocence's and even authority. It gives the audience identification towards the subject and their feelings and emotions. Some examples of composition photos are;

This photo is an example of a tilt up in a medium close-up. Tilt ups are used to give the subject of the photo authority and power. It is too make the person in the photo look higher than than everyone else and to give them more power. However tilt ups also make the subject look less glamourous. This photo is also a medium close-up as it is only of the top half of the subject. This also gives the subject look to have more authority and also makes the audience concentrate soley on the person on the photo. The eye level of this photo is not in the top third, which would make the photo have more of an effect of power.
 This photo is an example of a big close up. Close-ups display the most detail, but they do not include the broader scene. This shot magnifies the object and are often from a more distant shot to show detail, such as characters' emotions. They are used to show a major character or subject and makes it clear that the audience should be focused on this subject. This means that all we can see is the subjects face and nothing else. Big close ups are rarely used as they can be unflattering towards the model. However  on this photo we have the eye level in the top third of the page which is the correct level for a magazine. The subjects face is also not straight on, it is turned to one side. This is too show the subject to be innocent, as if it had been straight on this would have made her look confident.
This photo is an example of a tilt down. Tilt downs are used to make the subject look innocent and vulnerable to the audience. High angles make the subject seem smaller, and less significant and normally becomes part of the background of the picture. This photo is also a medium shot.Medium shots are to show some detail of action and also tries to make the audience focus on the main subject and not the background. Therefore the background of the shot is normally very minimalistic and has not got much going on, as this may take the audiencess attention away from the main subject. In this photo that subject is too one side, which again breaks the rule of third. This gives an opportunity to add more into the background if they wish; however most of the time they do not.
